I now have delicious fluffy yarn made from this fiber.  Rambouillet is an amazingly crimpy, lofty wool, so it floofs out if you spin it fairly thick.  Because it’s fuzzy and fairly short-staple, it also makes very nice fine weaving yarn, because it doesn’t go all “furry” like longer-staple wools or mohair tend to do.  This is the variety of wool that I’m making the tallit background out of.  (Not that color, obviously.  Though that would be really kind of awesome.)  I will post pictures once the fluffy yarn dries…I have decided that it is made from 100% sustainably harvested Truffula tuft, and I shall make a thneed of some sort out of it.
