More tasty food news

We just got back from the Central Square Farmer’s Market, where I bought a pound of top round steak and a pound of spicy beef sausages, both from happy grass-eating cows.  There will be delicious stir-fry for dinner tomorrow :-)  Today’s market was the meat farm, plus three farms selling plants, two bakeries, and a local chocolate company.  There will be more farmstands with actual veggies later, they say.  Really, with the CSA, we’ll mainly be coming into Cambridge for happy cow bits and possibly some fruit.  Ben also picked up some Stevia at the co-op to experiment with its sweetening potential.

Lunch today was a stir-fry of sprouted wheat, oyster mushrooms, tofu, scallions, tamari, and sesame oil.  It was utterly delicious!  Sprouted wheat is very similar to short-grain brown rice in taste and texture.
