Well, that was interesting

I’ve been feeling much more comfortable about this whole “religion” thing lately. Nothing major happened, but I’ve just sort of reached a critical mass of background knowledge and general comfort. It’s been lovely. But then this weekend, I was all disconnected and antisocial and jittery. Evidently, the nervous, conservative bit of my subconscious caught up with me and went “Wait, what’s going on? Didn’t we find the idea of belonging to a religious community new and strange? We panic about new and strange things. Panic!” I sat with the jitters and since they didn’t have any actual rational reasons for discomfort, I handed them a metaphorical cookie and they settled down again. Also, Ben figured out how to say “Don’t Panic” in large friendly Hebrew letters, which was endearing and amusing.
